Welcome To Lone Star Gerbils!
Penelope playing with a tamagotchi!
Welcome! My name is Elizabeth, and I am over LSG. We are a small breeder located in DFW, Texas, and are proud to be the only AGS registered breeder in the area. I am currently away in California attending college, but I still breed when I am home for Christmas and summer. At Lone Star Gerbil, we breed for health, friendliness and color. As of right now, we have one breeding pair, Sebastian and Penelope, who you can read about in the “my gerbils” section. March of 2011 is when I first envisioned breeding gerbils- after I had a bad incident with Petsmart. Petsmart was selling sick gerbils, and I had no idea. I went in to get a couple baby gerbils in March, and they both died on me. I cleaned everything up and purchased two more, who also died. It was then I found out that every Petsmart and Petco in the metroplex gets all of their small animals, reptiles, fish, and birds from the same place; Rainbow Exotics. After researching this place, I decided my local public needed a humane place from which to purchase gerbils, and that’s when I decided to start Lone Star gerbils.
I have successfully raised gerbils for 8 years, starting back in 5th grade. I had read an article in my English book on gerbils, and I fell in love. I researched and researched all I could about gerbils on the internet, and bought and checked out every book I could! My parents had no choice, and soon I was on my way to go get my first pair, who were named Ace and Johaku. I’ve been smitten ever since and have always had at least one pair of gerbils in my life at a time.
Take a look around the website and who knows- maybe you’ll fall in love, too!
